The VQ180 industrial heat pump is a unique 
high-temperature heat pump solution.​

Copeland acquired SPH Sustainable Process Heat in 2025. In line with the NH3 heat pump family, the Thermobooster has been renamed to VQ180.

SPH (Sustainable Process Heat) designs industrial heat pumps at very high temperatures to decarbonise thermal processes.

Its ThermBooster™ technology valorises the waste heat from industrial sites, enabling the production of hot water up to 180 °C and steam up to 175 °C. This solution, thanks to a specially developed high-temperature piston compressor, reduces the primary energy required for heat production, thereby decreasing gas consumption and CO2 emissions.

Sph systems are ideal for industries with thermal discharges and high heat requirements, fitting into a comprehensive energy optimisation strategy.

Atlantic Compressors supports the integration of these solutions to transform waste heat into decarbonised process heat.
